BOOO!!!

Marcia is in a Halloween kind of mood.   During one of those moments when only retail therapy shopping will do she visited Michael's and found a wooden pumpkin cut out and, carried along by the Halloween mood, decorated it in a most adorable fashion.  I love it!!!

WHERE IS THE RAIN?

We are having a long dry Summer here in the Northwest and I haven't seen my umbrella in months.  I know the rains will return so an umbrella search will take place very shortly but in the meantime I found my umbrella die cut and made a few cards.

To make the cards I used the following items:

A LITTLE PUMPKIN

Taking a sanity break from a hard day's work Marcia took a little blog trip and found a cute pumpkin idea which she sent me.  This little pumpkin is made using a very small terracotta pot, decorative paper strips cut  4 inches x 1/2 inch, this will vary depending on the size of the pot.  Attach  the paper strips to the bottom and top (inside) of pot with a glue dot, I put leaves on mine and Hershey kisses.  How cute would several of these look decorating a table?

In case you missed it...Pinterest is like having a bulletin board on your computer, this social sharing site allows users to share images of recipes, crafts and other interests.  Linking the users to other sites showing the recipe, the craft tutorial, the resource for whatever interest you.  You can "pin" a new image or "repin" one you found on the site.

The bookmarks I just made I found on Pinterest along with the site that has the instructions.  Here is the link but in case it doesn't work I will post the instructions and photos following the link.  It worked for me when I tried it.

Anyway here is what you will find on the site.

• Start with a 6x6 square of cardstock
• Fold into a triangle
• Fold the left corner to the center point
• Fold the right corner to the center point
• Open up the triangle again and fold one flap of the center point to the bottom
• Re-fold the left corner toward the center point and tuck into the "pocket"
• Re-fold the right corner toward the center point and tuck into the "pocket"
• Cut a contrasting square slightly smaller than the 3x3 pocket
• Glue to inside of pocket
• Cut embellishments - teeth, nose, tongue, etc.  Glue inside of fold
• Slide into the page corner of your favorite book.
• Fun and EASY!

Catch Up Day

It seems the Inky Fingers have unfinished projects (who knew?) so the third Sunday of the month is our catch up day.  Christine, Monique, Dawn and I had a nice day of crafting, appetizers and white Sangria.  Amazingly enough we did get things done.  Dawn and Monique did prep work for their Christmas cards and Christine and I made a couple of cards.  I had the man in the rain stamp with me and this is the card Christine made using the Magenta Honeycomb Paper.

Christine made this card from a sample in Angela's Close to My Heart blog.  It uses  8 1/2 x11 card stock cut in half across the 11"  then folder in 1/2 and the front folded in half again...you get the picture.

Inside the flower pattern flap opens, the popped circle keeps it secured when closed.

I have plenty of unfinished projects but chose to start a tag book for all the present and future t-ball and soccer pictures of my grandson Beckett.

This card is made with Stampin' Up paper and stamp set Fabulous Florets.

Close to my Heart stamp set Find Your Style and Graphic 45 decorative paper.

Basically the same card with different colors and papers.  I need to get back to embossing these would look so much richer if they were embossed.

RAINMAN

  After a beautiful sun filled day the clouds have moved in and I can hear the rumbling of thunder.  Stormy weather brought me to the craft room and my, until today, unused stamp of the man with an umbrella.  I tried different backgrounds before hitting on music, it gives the cards a nostalgic look.
