Backpack Mini Scrapbook.

A big THANK YOU to Sabine for hosting the Inky Fingers on Sunday, April 15.  The afternoon started with hugs, show and tell of projects we've made, catching up on the "happenings" in our lives and getting the potato bar ready for the delicious lunch. We "oohed and ahhed" over Sabine's beautiful  home, chatted some more, and after eating lunch we were ready to make our Backpack Mini Scrapbooks.  Sabine did all the cutting  we just had to score and assemble.  For a tutorial click on the link below.

This is a nice project to make for a teacher, a grandparent, to mark a special event or just for fun because it is so easy and makes such an impression.    A great Sunday afternoon and we even got to meet Sabine's husband John and their beautiful children Charlotte and Luke. 

A little bird told me....

Christine painted this bird on the napkin holder, all free hand, and I was lucky to get it for my birthday.  Beautiful!  Unfortunately this creative talent skipped my generation, my mom was very good at drawing too.

Fat Free Cupcakes

My birthday was April 1st and we celebrated at Caryl's house, however Christine couldn't make it so today we continued the celebration right along with all the Easter happenings; egg hunts, basket hunt, brunch and candy eating...lots of candy eating.  I was surprised with a beautiful display of cards made by Angela, Caryl, Claudia, Monique, Dawn and Christine.   THANK YOU, THANK YOU ALL!!!

  

CALENDARS

The time has gone soooo fast that I had to look back in my day planner for the date.  The Inky Fingers got together at Angela's house in January and made calendars.  Each member was assigned a calendar month and made enough copies for each person.  The stand for the calendar is a CD case, turning the cover around created the stand.   Double click on the photos to see them larger, sorry a couple are a little blurry.

FOUR TIMES THE FUN

We had four times the fun at Art n Soul last Wednesday.  Lots of smiles to go around.

 Made four cards using four different coloring techniques.  The materials we used were; marking pens, Distress inks, StazOn, and watercolor pencils.  Four ways to use the same stamp.

ART N SOUL CARDS

We should have named our blog Art N Soul  'cause this group has both, I am sure the name was taken though.  So back to the business at hand, Marcia and I drove down  to Olympia on Saturday to visit our favorite shop.  She read on their blog that with the donation of a couple of cans for the food bank two cards were available for the making.  We were right on it, brought our cans and walked away with two beautiful cards
I have to say the people at Art N Soul are always happy to answer questions, show you how to use a product and  tell you what is new in their store and they are always bringing in new things.  They also have fabulous classes, Marcia and I are signing up for one next month.  "FOUR TIMES THE FUN", making four different cards using four different coloring techniques; Memento marking pens, Distress inks, StazOn, Watercolor pencils on acetate and watercolor paper.  This class is Wednesday, March 28, 1:00-4:00 join us if you have the time off.
The cards we made on Saturday used beautiful intricate die-cut designs.  These die-cuts can be used with the Cuttlebug but may require an additional metal plate.

 The flowers are also a die-cut.
